Good film, I liked it. I watched it on my TV with laptop plugged in.

The lead actor Eddie Redmayne won a bagful of prestigious gongs - the Academy Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Leading Role, for his performance in this movie.

This recognition has set him up for life, he can pick and choose his roles now. Yet he did not even hang around after the Oscars, he flew out of LA the next day. IE he is a well grounded likeable chap, not a 'Hollywood luvvie'.

I don't like downloading films legally or illegally.
I'd rather go and watch stuff in the cinematic atmosphere. A tenner apiece won't break the bank.
We have the choice just seeing the film (a quick in & out) .... or making a proper evening of it by visiting the numerous surrounding department stores & eateries ...
.... as cinemas in big cities are usually part of a massive multicomplex monolith.

For the first time i went to see a movie without reading a single review first. I usually disagree with the review verdict anyway.

It was a low-certificate flick cos there was no violence what so ever.
No guns, no gadgets, no silly cgi effects, the plot (and nothing else) carried the movie.
No sex either ..... but lots of norty jokes which would have gone over the heads of any minors in the audience.
Lots of beautiful, lush scenes in one of England's most affluent areas - Cambridge.
The uni buildings had beautiful Georgian (?) architecture internally & externally that were just delightful.
Lots of brilliant quotes too.

Stephen Hawking studied science, his wife studied art and the 3rd person in the triangle (yes there was a love triangle) studied religion.
It showed how science , art and religion were interwoven.
It could have been a very messy menage a trois, but it wasn't.
His deterioration in health was sad to see.
There were many painfully poignant moments.

I MUST stop going to the cinema, the sad moments keep making me weep bucketfuls of salty tears.
The halls are not totally dark, people can see you wiping your eyes  there's nowhere to hide.
