Ooh, proper nail-biter on EE. :yikes:

But as if Sharon would meet Keanu by the canal. :gigglesnshit:

He was at it again last night.

McFadden really has TPTB's balls in a vice - I suspect I know why but it is becoming utterly laughable now.

Rainie laces Max’s coffee with laxative, cups get mixed up, she drinks it and you can hear Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” in the background as she realises what’s happened. :gigglesnshit: :gigglesnshit: :gigglesnshit:

No already seen them once - I watch out of habit more than anything because I started watching from the first episode as a child.

It was so much better without the ludicrous antics of The Philth.

How I wish Den had been on the square longer on his return - killing him off was pure spite.

The great Lou Beale would have been picking the bones of the poison dwarf (Peggy) out of her teeth as well had she been there for a few more years.

She was old school.

Keyser, you watching classic Eastenders on Drama? Saw my first 2 yesterday. My god some of the sets look bloody grim.

Last week was absolutely bloody hilarious.

The Philth (a short, fat, 60 year old man with more health conditions than Gregory House has ever seen) throwing around six young muscular 'hard men' like so much confetti in the wind.

The sooner Yorke is gone the better.

Kate Oates confirmed as the new EP, also takes the head of Casualty and Holby City as well.

Classic Corrie: Jack Duckworth vows to stop drinking after spotting Father Christmas on the church roof after he had been out drinking with Curly. :gigglesnshit: It was of course Derek (in a Father Christmas costume for his work party) who got locked inside after falling asleep after drinking and escaped through a window.

When do you think it started to go bad?

Difficult question Nucks! I think 2006 started the genuine fall from grace, but the seeds had been sown by Yorkie by making Philth invincible in his original stint. When Lisa shot Philth he should have died, that was 2001.

A lot of big names left in 2005/6 and the focus was more or less solely the Brannings for a number of years and it was beyond tedious. Don't get me wrong there have been individual episodes and even whole weeks worth watching since but the show needs to seriously consider their strategy of paying huge bucks to half a dozen people and giving them all the screen time. Mick/Linda/Max and the Slaters at the moment are never off screen. They are on screen so often and have been for years so the story lines get more desperate and ridiculous because how much can one person go through? Don't get me wrong all soaps have the same issue, but EE have some very poor story liners and the writing is inconsistent at the very least, and the practice of every new EP coming in and deciding to get rid of much loved characters to put their individual stamp on the show needs to stop. There is so many problems that I'm not entirely sure how fixable it actually is.

Yeah what was done to weaken Steve Owen to make the Philth look good was utterly disgusting.

Imagine a show with no invincible Super Thug and credible villains in the 21st century mate.

None of them have been decent in the end because they have been so vastly weakened to deify Mitchell as soon as they met him. :Lucia:

Delighted you find it funny.

It's always good to have a sense of humour.

I find a sense of humour in the 'littlest of things'. :nelix:

The trouble with Yorke is that he is both obsessed with Mitchell as Top Dog and the past (Slaters etc) - hence the ludicrous scene when the short, fat, old twat (with more conditions than House ever diagnosed) intimidated about 30 young hardened thugs of Aiden's in the Vic - by grunting a bit.

Steve Owen Mark II is about to arrive as well and after no doubt terrorising most of the square will immediately suffer a violent rectal prolapse as soon as the Philth very slowly huffs and puffs his way into view.

So boring.

How I wish these excellent male characters has been left alive for longer by TPTB.

Den.
Steve
Dennis.
Andy.
Johnny.
Jase.
Archie.
Derek (could have been great had they had the guts to allow him to topple Mitchell)
Micheal.

Dan and Sean would make a welcome return as well.

All villains or antiheroes but not caricatures like the 21st century version of Super Thug TM who (incredibly) 'owned' them all apart from Den.

I will NEVER understand how (supposedly) intelligent people get so worked up and spend hours composing a thread about a soap that isn't real life - but yet, the poster, posts like it is!!! :shake head:

Makes you wonder...

Not worked up at all - and as EE is the only soap/'celebrity'/'reality'/quiz show I ever watch it is my guilty pleasure - I am much more of a BBC4 sort of bloke.
