YouGov polls surveyed over 14th/15th November showing a huge shift to Remain EU but also includes polling on many other serious matters from broken promises, standard of living, NHS, to the comically absurd "taking back control".

They have an app but it's pretty bad...

Other than that I agree with you.

When there's an open garage with a massive third reich flag pinned to the back of it, it makes me pause for a bit before knocking the door.

Tbh i'd rather that than how some neo-Nazi in Germany move around today. Alec Guinness' description is spot on.

I've never seen such a thing - I would pause also. :ooer:

No, not at all. But I believe fear of Johnny Foreigner is what swung it - and so did Farage and co.

And the Mooslims..as Barnsley man reminded everyone!

Oh yes, them too - you couldn't spit on here a couple of years back for anti-Muslim vitriol.

I'm afraid it was and still is for those i've come across, thankfully not personally but via forum postings many of which were utterly vile both pre and post ref. Once the result was in it was 'open season' for racists. Also saw some pretty vile clips posted up on YT.

Personally is what I’m talking about. Some who believed in leaving didn’t vote because of the way it was hijacked by the racist mouthpieces.

The only ones i know personally are something of an embarrassment, not so much for me but my daughter-in-law. Living in London i'd assumed all had voted Remain but her mother, step-father and sister voted leave, her father, brother and one of her step-brothers voted Remain. So it's split her family and politics are no longer up for discussion at family barbeques etc!

But it’s not going to stop certain people/politicians from using that fear of foreigners to achieve their own agendas, it’s disappointing and it’s worth staying vigilant of far right sentiments but despite some knuckle draggers feeling empowered enough to be openly racist post ref, the far right haven’t really gained much ground here.

They’re trickling out ... 52%, and many of them weren’t voting leave because they fear a brown face.

I regret I don't share your analysis or your optimism.

Anti immigration sentiment did particularly well outside of London, in places that were struggling, or felt they were struggling. Blaming immigration was the easy option.
