According to KTUL-TV, Leroy Schumacher, grandfather of 17-year-old Jacob Redfearn, believes the death of Redfearn was unjustified because the homeowner's AR15 gave him an unfair advantage over the three burglars.

Speaking to KTUL, Schumacher acknowledged that breaking into a house was "stupid," but death was not the appropriate consequence.

"What these three boys did was stupid," Schumacher said. "They knew they could be punished for it but they did not deserve to die."

"Brass knuckles against an AR-15? C'mon. Who was afraid for their life?" Schumacher said.

Does CJ live in Oklahoma? :cuppaT:

Brass knucks and the homeowner only had and AR15, you must think, he was lucky to escape with his life. You reckon on needing at least a tank to match up to brass knucks

Nah, the black death rifle was adequate. :gigglesnshit:

We do agree. Steak knives don't make very good weapons.

Now on to more important things. AR-10 or AR-15? Which one do you pick for home defense?

So you wouldn't go for a small dog and a swimming pool? Why don't you want to double your home defence capability?

Does your home insurance provider know about this lackadaisical attitude you have to home security?

Why are you worried.

A steak knife is the same as a gun - you've said so on this thread.
A small dog is the same as a gun - you've said so on this thread.
A swimming pool is the same as a gun - that wasn't on this thread but you've firmly asserted the belief that swimming pools are the same as guns, as are hammers.

Would you like a hammer too?

I'm worried that the guy with the AR-15 won't even have a sporting chance.

I'm worried about you. But I'm still OK with you having an AR-15.

No need to worry about me - I would never imagine that a steak knife is in any way equivalent to an AR-15.

I put down to me having a connection, however loose, with reality.

Oh look. We agree!

Would you prefer to have a small dog instead?

I'd even let you have a small dog and a steak knife, I don't think the guy with the AR-15 would object.

How about I get a cannon full of grape shot? :dunno:

Can't do firearms because they're the control - but how about a swimming pool?

You've said that swimming pools are just the same as guns too, so with a steak knife, a small dog and a swimming pool you'll have the guy with the AR-15 completely over-matched.

Swimming pools are terrible at harvesting deer, and shooting rapists.

They are fairly good at accidently drowning children though.

Do you have a point to the pointless conversation?

Look you've got a steak knife and small dog as well as a swimming pool.

You've represented all three as being 'just like guns' so it's a fair fight - in fact it's an unfair fight in your favour according to your own professed opinions.
