In days gone by every Church Fare and Jumble Sale had a White Elephant Stall where broken, incomplete or completely pointless items were sold on the clear understanding that whatever you, the customer, were buying you knew it was completely and utterly useless
One of the consequences of the shutdown is that Everify isn't working. Everify is a proven tool that helps to identify undocumented persons in the US and can help to prosecute employers who knowingly hire them. Everify is being compromised for a border fence/wall/barrier - whatever Trump chooses to call it on any given day
Specifically, given the amount he is demanding and length he is proposing this border wall
For context I regularly walk my dog on piece of ground surrounded by a fence like this, getting through is not difficult
