Boris Johnson could be forced to resign by October, according to Guto Bebb, one of the Conservative rebels who was kicked out of the parliamentary party this week when he voted to make a no-deal Brexit in October illegal.

"I don't think he's going to get a general election, he says he's not going to extend, and I can't believe for a moment that a British prime minister would break the law, so logically he will have to resign," said Bebb.
Johnson appears to be running out of options: he has repeatedly said the UK will leave the EU on October 31, and said on a Thursday he would rather be "dead in a ditch" than seek a delay.

Labour look set to reject his request for a general election next week, throwing the future of his premiership into doubt.
Boris Johnson will be forced to resign instead of seeking a delay to Brexit, one of the Conservative rebel members of parliament the prime minister expelled from his party this week has told Business Insider.

Guto Bebb, the MP for Aberconwy, was one of 21 Tory rebels who had the party whip removed this week when he voted against the government to make a no-deal Brexit on October 31 illegal.

That's pretty much the size of it but there's more:

If Boris resigns as PM the house will have the opportunity to elect a different Prime Minister and whomever they chose need not seek an extension to Article 50, which the EU may not agree to, they can just outright revoke it.

Revoking Article 50 can be spun as 'cutting the Gordian knot' by forcing a binding referendum where 60% of the country must vote for an end to the status quo. Remember in order to get away with having a 'simple in/out referendum where only 50% + 1 vote was needed David Cameron had to make the referendum 'advisory' and therefore non-binding. A second vote with the binding stipulation is an easy sell as it 'takes the decision away from bickering politicians'

Standard practice not sure if the judge has a choice.

I can see that scenario getting dangerous if the brexit crowd see him as a 'political martyr' and the victim of a 'globalist elite power grab'.

I wonder how long before the calls for 'people power' to overturn the illegitimate parliament and to bring about the will of the people - a "triumph of the will" so to speak

We saw the 'people power' yesterday, 200 drunk fash attacking the police.

More likely he will write a book while imprisoned for his "political crimes" during his failed putsch.

Probably title it something like "My Struggle"

My chances of being PM are about as good as the chances of finding Elvis on Mars, or my being reincarnated as an olive.
My friends, as I have discovered myself, there are no disasters, only opportunities. And, indeed, opportunities for fresh disasters.

(Boris Johnson)

Boris will have to resign.
