And what of the dozen or so who were wrongly executed? Are they simply the US justice system's collateral damage? Given there is no evidence that capital punishment acts as deterrent for others is the execution of innocent people in a so-called civilised society ever justified?

Judging by your killing stats, it is pretty much 'de rigeur' to be black as well.

We are in bed with the Canadians, Mexicans and Venezuelans more then the Saudis. Oil comes from some pretty shitty regimes. One can buy it, do business with them, and still not approve of everything they do. Do you think the Indians like buying oil from countries that support Pakistan? It's life, deal with it.
