Of course they report crime - more so than ever.

You can't claim on the insurance without a crime number....

My local paper has reported that crime is down by 13% in our County since March 2011, I've been over here since March 2011.

the murders figures should be catagorised according to areas.
i doubt the number of gang related murders are the same in London as they are in Cornwall, but i would not be surprised if canny comes up with a stat to make him feel right........or (left)

haha, or "provoked" unless by the British then its called "hate crime"

in actual fact the term murder has steadily decreased since 1960 as it offends

Don't you see though TR, this means that a larger population means a less violent country in terms of murders.

I'm saying that this is how I've worked it out, it doesn't mean it's right.

I did it by dividing the number of millions of the population by 100,000 then dividing it by the approximate number of murders in that year (1960 and 2010) and that's what came out.

I do think though that like cases of paedophilia, child murder/abduction etc that these crimes are a lot more pubicised now than they used to be so it seems to people that they have increased dramatically simply because they never used to hear about them.
