Where did common sense and basic morals go? I think that we are being sold short on the critical thinking of the British public.

*ponders, hmm, brexit.*

Maybe some people need a reminder :dunno:

Common sense and basic morals?
We've always had rapists and we've always had people with little common sense. They haven't suddenly vanished.
As to Brexit, I'd say it's an advantage to get away from this PC world we are now living in. Where someone has to be reminded by a text message that rape is wrong.

Rape is wrong? .... well I'll go to the foot of my stairs......when did that happen? :yikes:

The Police Service Of Northern Ireland has come in for ridicule after saying kissing someone under the mistletoe without consent, equals RAPE.

Hundreds of people have accused the police force of trivialising the crime.

The Police force said the message had been taken out of context, but to remember that when out socialising over Christmas, without consent is rape.

Utterly ridiculous Vic. Too many people are looking at being offended and taking up imaginary fights on behalf of others these days.

Real assault and rape exist anyway, that should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, no need to go looking for imaginary cases, concentrate on the ones they know about.

Historic child abuse inquiry? :shake head:

(off to read what others have said now)

I doubt your regular garden variety sexual Deviant is going to be stopped in his tracks by this message. Can you imagine pervy Pete putting his cock away after reading this on Twitter? No, me neither...

I assume that warning applies to both genders. If so, ladies please take note :wag: ...

I take bump to mean sex as in bumping uglies?
I think the txt means, taking advantage of someone who is pissed out of their heads and no idea what they are doing is rape.

Very badly worded but the message they want to send is the correct one.

Now you're talking balls.

Tbh though, I'm not even sure the Police should bother with those kinds of 'warnings', especially when they bugger it up.

I would say that someone who has sexual assault within them, wouldn't be thinking of a few words the Police put out there on twitter. I think sexual assault is something that someone is either capable of or they're not. Unlike speeding/parking where we shouldn't, for example, we are all capable of those.

Its about educating people JP.

If someone started this thread on DS there would be a fair few "men" saying that a women kissing back is consent. That You can't stop and ask a women if she wants to proceed whilst you are in the throes of passion etc etc

That last one is lost on me, I assume that these "men" have either had not a lot of sex or are really bad at it.
Ok that's fine for the young, no problem. Under 20 maybe. But after that, and generally speaking, I would say someone is either capable of something like sexual assault or they are not.

A woman kissing back is consent to kiss, that's it at that point. Blimey, surely everyone would know that.

People have brought up the 'vinegar stroke' scenario, and talked about if a woman says stop at that point, that's what I think you mean. Unlikely a woman would get to that point of sexual intercourse and say no/stop, but, if it happens the guy would of course have to pull out and grab a tissue if possible. Sorry to be blunt here, but this is what has been mentioned on DS in the past.

Even if a woman consents, if she's drunk it could be deemed to be rape these days. I'd advise any man not to go near any woman who's had a few drinks.
Hmm maybe so.

I'm really not a fan of drunk women or men full stop, they tend to look like dumbarses and pathetic generally. Merry fine, rat-arsed, no.
