I'm surprised you don't just sleep in your car. what's the point of staying in a hotel and penny pinching?
What's penny pinching about it? Most people stay in a hotel to sleep, not to raid the mini bar. I often bring my own supply of what ever I'd like to drink. Why would I want to pay the exorbitant prices of a mini bar? I rather spend it on a nice dinner.
If I stay at a hotel for work it's on expenses, If I stay in a hotel on holiday It's part of the holiday experience. I eat where I want. I order what I want, I don't book into a cheap hotel to save money. If I decide I want a Pringle as one guest said With a whisky from the mini bar Then I have it. I often get room service sent to my room, my kids love to order pizza to the room I can afford and As I said it all adds to the experience of staying away from home.
Life is to short to worry about the price of a small tube of pringles while on a family vacation lol
Well good for you! Not everyone is as "well off" as you are though, others are, but have better sense than wasting a lot of money on some shitty little bottles, or crap packets from the mini bar. If I bring my own, I can have exactly what I want. Make no mistake, when I go away, I have a fab time, I just spend my money on better things than a mini bar...I usually go out for lovely dinners, and on my return might have a drink or two from my own supply, which is usually champagne or maybe prosecco and/or brandy with ginger ale ( my choice of drinks )
ETA...don't get me wrong, I have had drinks from mini bars, they do have their uses, but only when I haven't had a chance to get my own booze and I was or am in need for a drink.
