Trump made the EU blink. He's a bit of a gambler, which explains all of his bankruptcies, but he also has a short memory, which people like that need.

He throws shit against the wall and sees if it sticks. If it doesn't, he moves on and tries something else.

Probably not the most stable way to run a country, but it's far more exciting. :shoot:

Americans are so easily convinced of anything. I've witnessed it myself on US posting sites, they grasp at anything that looks favourable and make out it is real or is definitely happening. Like Trump draining the swamp or being for the people rather than the 1 percent. :gigglesnshit:

Did Americans write the BBC story? :leer:

I highlighted the vague promises stuff to help Mads.

No doubt the future promises may never materialize
Does that change the concessions both sides made?

Should the beeb not have mentioned that both sides want to work towards zero tarriffs?

Trump established EU sanctions, the EU returned the favour. Trump blinked...

That's another way if looking at it I guess. We do agree on who threw the first punch.

The US and EU have agreed to avoid an all-out trade war and work to lower tariffs, in talks that US President Donald Trump hailed as "a very strong understanding".

He may have a point. What the Russians want is a constitutional crisis. They want the US, to try to impeach Trump, over the protestations of his loyal followers. The only way that happens is for the Dems to take control of Congress. At that point, Trump starts fighting for his political life, and becomes a non entity on the world stage. Trump may think Putin likes him, but I'm sure Putin looks at Trump as a tool for chaos in the US. :more beer:

So, Beto then?

Doubtful. Things are going pretty damn good in Texas, and you're going to have a hard time getting the voters to switch horses now. Beto has stirred up a lot of national interest, but only Texans get to vote. :smilin:

What a joke.

I don't know about the jobs, but the welfare payments to farmers are correct.

We need workers here, so if you know anyone that want's to work...........................

Was reading the other day about the worlds largest nail company having to lay of hundreds of workers with possibly more to come.
Then there's a grill making company laying workers off and anyone using steel which has risen in price by over 300% thanks to Trump possibly moving abroad similar with aluminium.
Food piling up and rotting in warehouses because the Chinese no longer buy it off you.
Sounds like a sorry state of affairs.

Yeah, I guess there are a few manufacturing places hurting, but unemployment is still near historic lows.

The meat is frozen, so it's not rotting, but the trade wars are definitely not doing much good. I'm guessing this goes on until the November elections. If the Dems take control of either the house or the senate (or both), I think we might see something change on this front. It will definitely be interesting.

MadDog--very few of these people on sleepingdogs own their own businesses. They all count on a ck from the govt or their bosses(not that there is anything wrong with that)

I've ran two businesses, one a shop 600% rise in turnover in 19 months and a courier company as 2 people ending up employing a dozen with a turnover of "million whilst we had a huge recession.

I was reading about the tariffs affecting the US Solar Power industry, what a disaster Trump is. He claimed he was trying to save it, forgetting that the technology is imported with no infrastructure to make it in the US despite being told this numerous times. The guy is a moron. Some of his rambling speeches show that mentally, he is a child.
