Wild life is usually in tune with nature, they do recognise when weather goes bad. Fireworks/crackers go off unpredictably, they also go off days before and days after the event.
Farmers do what they have to do to protect their crops, it's their livelihood, so it's a necessary evil but like you said, birds get used to it because it happens regularly.
Fireworks are not necessary. Wildlife living near rails and airports are used to it because the noise is there on a daily basis. Fireworks come along once or maybe twice a year, wild life has no chance of getting used to it. ...and are you aware of how many pets get lost or even die of fright? Why should that be allowed just because some idiots like loud bangs?
Anyway, I don't even know why I'm trying to explain this to you. You obviously have no care for other creatures, so I leave it at that.

BIB. Fireworks around here go off regularly at various times during the year, due to multiple religious or cultural events, e.g. Chinese New Year, Diwali to name a couple, not just in or around November the 5th. In other parts of the UK you have fireworks going off at special events, music concerts etc. Could be any time of the year.
