interesting, his the opinion the boy wouldn't kill again.

i get the part about feeling he needed to kill her after the rape so she couldn't tell, but that level of brutality is frightening. how can the criminologist be so sure he would never do that again?

i wonder if he'll ever say what his motivation was. i wondered if it might be revenge for the dad not selling him the weed he went to buy.

how did he get her out of there unnoticed, has anyone read that yet?

His motivation was paedophilia. As banal (and evil) as that.

why that particular child and why such brutality, though, cleo?

IMO, Perhaps he had a grudge re not being get his weed from Rab or Toni. Perhaps he did have some sort of relationship with Toni (noted on social media today where once Toni and Rab were in a relationship, it no longer public today as it was yesterday). Rumour on social media mentions previous misdemeanors, hearsay though. All points to psychopathic behaviour though, IMO

A perfect storm of probably months of fantasising, alcohol and opportunity coming together. Paedophiles mostly choose children (or families) they know. Poor girl was in the right place, her grandmother's home, at the wrong time, when a fledgling, predatory psychopath decided to try out his fantasy.

We don't know how he got her out AFAIK.

I wonder how the psychiatric and medical will read.

We know the door had the key in the lock, as stated on the news not much crime in Bute, using a knife to silence her... poor little girl xx

We don't know any details for sure re how she was removed from the house. All we know is Grandma left the key in the door to their flat.

that's going to be very difficult for her to live with.

I'm guessing more news on the case will unfold now that the verdict has been reached. I'm wanting to know the truth behind it,and in other ways I don't. If the loss of this wee girls life is shown to have been worth no more than his failure to score drugs it is just so heartbreaking.

The local newspaper has lots of information. The language is a bit emotional as it's been written by a local who was at the trial however I doubt many wouldn't be emotional after listening to the the unbelievably horrific injuries that little girl had from the boy's attack. I would like him never to be released from prison ever. It is horrifying to think that because he is young he could be out of prison when he is in his thirties.

all credit to the boy's mum for alerting the police as well, how many would have done the same in her position?

Very true.. vital information she could have withheld, thankfully she done the right thing .

Any mother would have a moral duty to alert authorities, but yes how many would?
