Disagree. I think the gender is irrelevant. A decent judge will appreciate that rape is a heinous crime and that the effects of which, on the victim, are long lasting and long reaching and as such that should be reflected in a decent sentence across the board.
The effect of jail on a rapist shouldn't even come into the equation.
Yes when you put it like that.... I was being unintentionally sexist, just annoyed at the sentence & the judges comments.
Pitiful sentencing and disgraceful comments from the judge I agree. Not looking at anything from the victim's side, the meager sentence being further proof. In a parallel world I would have liked to have seen how a decent judge would have handled the case - pound to a penny this sexual predator's sorry arse would still behind bars. As it is he got a slap on the wrists and still him and his family complain.
