is that the 'wrong' way?

Technically yes, but nobody cares. I didn't even know about this little gem of information until today. Where my dad lives there are odd and even numbers on the same side of the road.

I've even seen streets where there are missing numbers. You've got a number 2, but the next one up is 6. The first time I saw that I shat myself.

My street goes in consecutive order as well, there's only 6 houses l and they are all on one side of the street so I guess it would be pretty difficult to mix it up any other way

A Cul De Sac is usually a private road, you live in a dead end :yikes:

The odd numbers will typically be on the left-hand side as seen from the centre of the town or village, with the lowest numbers at the end of the street closest to the town centre.

I suppose it obvious when you think about it.

I deliver to several roads that are all odd or all even and some that are sequentially numbered. If you buy a house on a new build and decide to give it a name instead of the number, you will not get any mail because you're a dickhead.

It is! Neat and logical system.
Thanks for explaining it, Cobsy! :wubbers:

I used to help my brother out in nl with his delivery round some years ago, good times, we would do it on bikes.
You need to know this stuff, some streets are numbered boustrophedonically.

Fantastic word
