I spoke to my doctor about a treatment developed at an Eastbourne Hospital for High Blood Pressure. It's an actual minor surgical procedure which takes about 10 minutes, whilst fully conscious and bingo! the blood pressure drops to normal again in every test case, forever, without having to take pills ever again.
My Doctor said he'd never even heard of it- end of story - showed no more interest in what I had said.
I spoke to my son's specialist at his diabetic clinic last week and he was excited and very clued up about this new treatment.
Yeah, I suppose Diabetes is the new watch word in health these days, so I guess it will get plenty of exposure - but Hypertension is no slouch either, you'd think GP's would be more knowledgeable.
My guess is that as it's a surgical procedure the costs increase hugely - so they prefer to fill you full of cheap drugs and ignore the side effects.
