It's okay but whichever liver I try I always come back to chicken livers, soft and tasty. For me and the dog.

Can't find any kidneys anywhere now. Asda don't have then any more and don't think Tesco ever did. Maybe try a butcher.

Thinly fried lambs liver dusted with salted flour, small roasted spuds, sprouts and onions.

If you are watching this Text it is a sure way to my heart. :pmsl: :pmsl: :pmsl:

Yes, tongue is expensive and an unhealthy meat due to it's very high salt content. Not sure if it's naturally salty or they add it. Tasty though. Pork tongue's nicer than ox but you rarely see it. Ox is more commonly sold in supermarkets. You can buy a big whole tongue and roast or boil it. Wife used to do that for her rich employers and it was ordered from Harrod's. Try not to give dog it as it's so salty.

Mixed bag on the offal front for me.

Love a bit of liver. Usually go with liver, bacon and onion gravy either with chips or mash. A bit of brown sauce, Worcester or both on it.

A pre-made steak and kidney pie is something I appreciate, although the only time I ever bought kidneys on their own was a disaster. Stunk of piss when cooking them and tasted of it too. I remember soaking them in milk first which I think is supposed to stop that happening. They lied.

Beef's heart I only had once and remember really liking it. Think it was in a stew, might have to get some again one day.

Remember my parents used to get tongue in for sandwiches from the deli counter when I was a kid. I remember quite liking it although it seems a bit expensive to me these days. Just looking now, works out at £16/kg for pre-packaged and £19 on the counter at Tesco. Other supermarkets are available. I don't usually pay that for meat outside of special occasions. Didn't it used to be really cheap because people wouldn't eat it? Same with ox tail, that seems pricey to me these days as well.

Tripe - had once, not sure I made it with the best recipe. Didn't like it, probably wouldn't try it again.

When I took my wife to be to meet my pop quiz mate, Joe, who was a bit rough, she was disgusted by how his house smelt and the 3 dogs there too. He made us both a tea so she poured hers in a plant. His wife came and said "Oh Nita you like Joe's tea, no-one else does, make her another Joe" :yikes: :leer: When we left I couldn't stop laughing.

My mum was one of 10 kids and all the others passed down the table what they didn't want for her to eat. lol. She played out with the boys, climbing trees etc and her dad told her she "should have been born a bloody lad"

I cant do tripe or hearts or tongue

My dad used to hanker back to the war years and the 50's and the utter shit that people ate because there was fuck all else, the man would stink his own pub out cooking tripe and onions. I didn't used to eat much as a kid because sitting on a hard chair and told to stay there until I finished often used to take until bedtime with the filth on the plate untouched and me very hungry.

I used to stuff it my underpants and mum used to give me a sandwich and a wink. I can't finish a sandwich to this day because I need to save a bit for later
