I like the baby Chantay carrots, 75p for 300g but they taste lovely and sweet.

Parboil the veg and freeze it

Shout out to those supermarkets which were giving away vegetables practically free to everyone this Christmas.
At just 15 pence (or less) per bag, - including large bags of potatoes! :thud: Very thoughtful! The bonus is that it was healthy unprocessed food. Not the usual UPF (ultraprocessed food) sh*t that's so toxic to the system.

I used to think of photogenic food as mostly UPF. But times are changing and people are getting more health-conscious. Fresh, wholesome food in its natural state is photogenic too.

Going thru yet another cheese loving phase. I just love the stuff, most types.

I cannot really imagining not eating any meat, less yes, as I believe a lot of people are.

I have quite a few farmer friends who do not sell as much on the side nowadays so that says something

I have some live turkeys and I am not experienced in their slaughter so anyone buying them must take them away breathing, I think they will go this weekend.

BTW I have slaughtered 2 under supervision but it is not for me, takes too long

we have too much pork so will give some away.

Some more turkeys sold today

I could go right off meat when preparing it for a meal Major... but once cooked I eat it whilst sometimes feeling guilty :ooer: .... if it wasn’t for my OH I could easily do without tbh!

Not had gem squash in maybe two decades?..

That's a long time, I've had a look around to see if I could source some for you but only the seeds can be found. You could try growing your own ?

I had 6 pigeon breasts simmered in milk and Modena balsamic vinegar, when they are almost cooked I tip some of the water away and add a whopping chunk of BUTTER, simmer for 5/10 mins on a very low heat, add a shake of garlic salt, get the sauce to your own liking.

I then spoon it on to 3 toasted slices of Hovis Nimble bread, sprinkle with Pecorino RomanoCheese

It is not a filling meal but so tasty.

Thin slices of cold cucumber are ace as a side.
