Is this based on the film with the same storyline ....... or is it a series using Fargo and it's characters for a new story/ case?

I'm downloading it now from a streaming site and will watch when I get a chance.....as the opening titles come up it says:

'This is a true story of events which occurred in Minnesota in 2006 - Out of respect for those involved, names have been changed but the events shown are a true account of what actually happened'

I'm thinking it's the original story of the film but in much finer detail than the film was able to give....interesting though.

After downloading it, I decided to give it a look yesterday afternoon.

I have only seen the film once, quite a while ago now, I'm pretty sure it's a totally different story but at the same time, very familiar...it's weird really.

Billy Bob Thornton is at his menacing best and ably supported by the rest of the cast, who like I say, seem very familiar. It's certainly worth a view and I think it can hold an audience for a series, I will definitely give the second episode a look when it next shows.

I'm sure I saw an advert on TV the other day saying Fargo is a new series being shown on Channel 4, Sunday evening I think. :dunno:

I watched the first episode this weekend on C4. It is a series as you say.

Was pretty good I thought - had a nice kookiness to it.

Just watch the second episode which I had recorded.

I literally watched the final scene with my mouth wide open. I cannot believe it is based on a true story...

And the line "no, irregular is when I found a human foot in my toaster, this is just odd" cracked me up.

I think you will enjoy it.

The next time I watch it I plan to be prepared though. Nice bottle of red, crisps and some dip. Better than being at the cinema...

They drilled a fucking hole in the ice, and then... :yikes:

What the fuck? That's my worse nightmare! :kinell:

This series reeks of David Lynch, did anyone read what was written in red on the burger ad behind Molly's dad's shoulder let alone other strange lighting and camera angles :ooer:

Almost as good as Twin Peaks so far.
