Very talented man - his guitar playing was 2nd to none IMO, and his bio says he was an actor as well; guess I'd missed seeing his name in the credits.
He sure had a raucous childhood - served time in juvenile detention center, but his music ...massively appreciated by many and used as the foundation for lots of other rock stars as well.
