'Cult TV', it's got to be something like "Red Dwarf", "Bottom", "24", "Lost", "Prison Break", "The Simpsons'', "Family Guy", "King of the Hill", ...that's what I would call "cult TV"...

I always loved 'Knots landing' but I wouldn't say it was ever; 'cult TV'??? :dunno: or, was it???

i used to put cult tv into a category that started a following so to speak, i used to think more sci-fi and fantasy programmes fell under that header, but i guess dynasty did start the shoulderpad phase

Cult TV isn't just something that attracts a following - in that case it would include the soaps and any programme with popular appeal. It really has to be something that a particular group of people follow - possibly people who have different tastes to most others. It's more likely to include programmes that some people love and others just don't get.

I would include Red Dwarf, The Prisoner, The Office (possibly), and all that Star Trek nonsense - that used to be mainstream but it went a bit cultish.
