They're probably funnier if you know the person concerned. I'm not very good with names with which I can't make some sort of an association or point of reference and I often get people mixed up. Hell, sometimes I even get mixed up with people I do know!!

I'm very good at remembering people I've met in person or even when I've seen a picture of them - I hardly ever forget a name - but without a face to put the name to, I'm hopeless. At university, I was really bad at remembering names of theorists and the dates of their work when citing them in an exam. I used to have to put an imaginary face to them in order to remember their names!!

it wasn't the roofers snuffs, the made up ball from pairs of socks the housemates have been using for catch. When they went up on the roof got trapped in the drains and caused the drains to back up, resulting in the roof flooding.
