How is this possible?

I'm still struggling to get my head around this really tragic case.

55 year old Hamid Farahi a homeless man who died alone in a Hotel room. Previously he had slept in his car.

But this was no 'normal' homeless person. He held a degree in Quantum Physics, had previously worked in the Avionics industry, and even made the short list of applicants to work with Prof. Stephen Hawking.

It seems his life then went totally pear shaped and he turned to drink.....but i cannot figure out how and why.

From one of your links he seems to have been suffering some psychological trauma so self medicated with booze and things just spiralled from there..

Same thing happened to a freind early winter last year. He invited a local young man well known in the town as a drunk. The next morning the guy was dead.

I am thinking had he remained outside in the cold the alcohol in his system would have kept him alive. However being in a warm environment his body must have over heated? He was on the couch, but found on the floor in the morning. He was not exactly old ether. I remember serving him his primary school lunches when I was 26. So he couldn't have been older than 25 at the time.

A lot of people who hit the bottle can't explain what happened.
How it totally consumed them.
