I may fast tomorrow and pray for my deceased relatives..Or I may slightly fast and pray.
Yom Kippur is the equivalent of the catholic holy day All Souls Day.

i am sure that that is s sentiment appreciated by all the jews on here Jack. I am catholic but am connected to the jewish religion by my dad's side of the family
as well as the basic fact that judaism is forever woven into the fabric of christianity. Yom Kippur and All saints and All souls day are really the same thing.
I still remember some yiddish expressions/words.

for example SCHMATTA....which is worn out well used clothing.
