This isn't some isolated nut job.
We have other preachers telling the American people that Trump is the second coming!
These people .... ths nation is truly dangerous.

You said it jack....More shit about America :bawlin:
Bit like those lovely people you have protesting outside your schools about gays right now.
Pretty sure they'd love to kill them as well

No matter what shit you post about America (and it is shit) The British have done it all before. Sometimes Hundreds of years before

So America didn't embark on full spectrum domination?
They didn't have a bunch of crazies take power with GWB crazies who wrote the New American Century?
America isn't full of preachers and followers who think Trump is the second coming or in some other way is directly connected to God?
America haven't killed an estimated thirty to fifty million innocent civilians since the end of WW2?
America aren't the greatest debtor nation in history?
Can you point me in the direction of the shit?

Jack...you're writing it.
Carry on, no one gives fuck anyway

You obviously give a few fucks but fail every time to answer any questions .... you give guest a bad name.
I can see why you make these inane shit posts without discourse under a bag.
When you smarten up a bit you might do it under your username or join up so we can discuss these things but .... you're not really up to that so take it easy.

UK in the past held some strict views on homosexuality but nothing compared to the US mindset which is stuck in a timewarp. When i first started work back in the 60's one of the mangers who we all know was gay, or queer as it was known then, lost his job after being fined for gross indecency when caught with another man in a public toilet. A few years before that in the 50's, homosexuals were given chemical castration. Bletchley Park code breaker Alan Turing was one.

There is no US mindset. There are many different US mindsets.

The most common mindset in the US is that no one gives a fuck.

You certainly do, especially regarding religion.

The latest news is that two likely GOP candidates for the presidency have claimed that "God told them to stand".

So they, in their wisdom, think you will believe that God sent his son to be his Earth Rep, and then nothing heard for 2 millennia until he instructs 2 people from the same party to stand against each other in the same election...

You couldn't make it up.

So I did a bit of research - no fewer than NINE CANDIDATES made the claim last time round !! It's almost obligatory !!

I was posting in reference to the thread topic MD which is clearly indicated. In this country, whilst religion certainly played a part on forming views of homosexuality in the past, i don't believe that to be the case any longer. We've moved forward. Sure it's taken time but there is way more acceptance now than there ever was before and i just quoted two random examples from the 50's and 60's to illustrate. That wouldn't happen today in UK and in the case of Turing whom UK government treated appallingly, a public apology was given (interestingly under a Labour government) 55 years after Turing took his own life and given a posthumous pardon by the Queen four years later. There is even a law known as the "Alan Turing law".

By contrast, i feel the US is stuck in a timewarp due to it's conservatism and Christian fundamentalism. I choose those words carefully because i am certain not all Americans of a religious faith fall into that category. Fundamentalists hold extremist view points both politically and/or religious based.

Isn't 'God bless America' a universal chance all over the US?

Isn't 'God bless the President', 'the Army/military' universal all over America?

The inauguration was full of religious sorts saying their bit and yet state and church are meant to be separate. :dunno:

Grafenwalder is right, the US is a backwards country dominated by religion. Outdated views, wishing it was the 19th century all over again. :off head:

(There have been plenty of examples in this section for years)

More like the 17th Century, Fletch. There are a lot of folk there who see the The Crucible as a guide to how the Supreme Court should act, rather than the warning against religious extremism and fundamentalism that it is. :shake head:
