We're only holding him for the Yanks after all.

You'd almost think it was an impeachable offence, asking a foreign power to act on behalf of the US...

An update on the other case i posted about a US tourist driving on the wrong side of the road who killed an 83 year old pensioner in Scotland - she got 500 hours community service and a three year ban. Slap on the wrist for killing someone.

Meantime it seems Harry Dunns killer isn't so hot behind the wheel either having been done for driving without due care and attention in the US.

Channel 4 news report tonight. It seems the families meeting with Raab did not go well.

Raab had trouble identifying how much traffic goes through Dover.

He wouldn't be my choice to fight the corner of a family seeking justice against an American citizen holed up in the US.

Nor would Bojo, come to that.

A US diplomat’s wife suspected of involvement in a fatal road collision will not be returned to the UK for trial, according to briefing notes provided to Donald Trump.

Briefing notes for a press conference on Wednesday, caught on camera by a Washington Post photographer, told the president: “(If raised) Note, as Secretary Pompeo [the US secretary of state, Mike Pompeo] told Raab [the UK foreign secretary, Dominic Raab], that the spouse of the US government employee will not return to the United Kingdom.”

No surprise there then.

What price justice, from the very country we will be desperately begging for a trade deal if we exit the EU.

Harry Dunn death: Mother of hit-and-run victim 'disgusted' over Donald Trump's 'throwaway' comments

The family of teenager killed in a car crash today slammed Donald Trump’s “insensitive, clumsy, oafish and insulting” defence of an American diplomat’s wife wanted over his death.

Harry Dunn's mother Charlotte Charles hit back today, accusing the US President of inflaming the situation by saying “wrong-way driving” happens and suggesting UK roads are confusing for Americans.

It seems Raab also treated the family pretty shoddy too;

Addressing how she felt after the meeting with Mr Raab on Wednesday, Ms Charles said: "We found it quite patronising, if I'm totally honest.

"Myself and my husband were split up - Harry's dad Tim and his wife Tracey, we were all told where to sit.

"Our family spokesperson... was shut down by Dominic Raab when he tried to talk on our behalf when he could see that we struggling with our emotions.

"We asked him to try and communicate with Anne Sacoolas directly, he said that he had had a message back from her... and that she was in some way shape or form upset.

"I can't remember the words but they certainly weren't strong enough to show any real remorse."

Ms Charles continued: "You would hope, being a UK citizen, that they would be the ones to help us as much as possible.

Yes and about time too.

Parents of Harry Dunn have flown out to US after the authorities declared Mrs Sacoolas immunity to be "irrelevant" and the Foreign Office said she no longer has immunity. "The US have now informed us that they too consider that immunity is no longer pertinent."

Northamptonshire Police said it was liaising with the Foreign Office and International Crime Co-ordination Centre about what to do next.

In a statement, it said it was "absolutely committed" to achieving justice for the teenager and his family.

Ah there you are, Graf !
Didn't wanna steal your thunder by posting that. The OP should be the one who gets to post that bit of good news. :Wiiiine!:

Once this family get justice for their boy, they can then proceed to grieve - quietly, in dignity, away from the limelight.
Bye now. :Hiya:

The CIA should have wised up and offered him a top job like they did with Frank Abagnale.

This is very different though Stoo. The most she's going to get is a fine but she shouldn't have done a runner. I imagine she's hardly in favour with the neighbours given what she did.

Diplomatic immunity only applies whilst in the country you are assigned to
So if an American diplomat assigned to the UK goes on vacation to France, they are not covered by immunity whilst in France
