I asked a few of the guys I work with, (former Brit cops), they said ;
"almost never" did they carry a weapon of any kind except for a baton.

As for "stunguns or Tazers" (as Perro kindly made the distinction, Thank you Perro :smilin: ) I remembered that during the Raoul Moat case the Police were said to use one of these.

Myself,I've never owned or carried one either a Taser or stungun, so can't help you on that, ask LordRaven, another Forces poster on here.

It's odd. If I posted a thread asking if the UK should allow firearms, I've no doubt some poster would give me a reason against it.

Yet no one has finished the sentence "Non-lethal weapons should not be allowed in the UK because..."

If they're not going to let you keep guns for protection, you should at least be able to keep something like this in the home.

A remote control could be used as a non-lethal weapon as could most household objects.
