Parts of UK to freeze at -20C in weeks - really ?

Postby Cannydc » Sun Oct 09, 2011 5:02 pm

Britain is just weeks away from being in the grip of temperatures as low as -20C, forecasters have predicted.

Parts of Britain already saw snow this week, with two inches falling in the Cairngorms in Scotland.

The rest of Britain is being warned to brace itself for wintry conditions and falling snow from the beginning of November.

And it looks like the colder weather is already on its way - as temperatures today plunged in certain areas to just 8C - a staggering 21.5C below last weekend's record highs - with the wind chill making it feel decidedly colder.

James Madden, long-range forecaster for Exacta Weather, said: 'I expect the most frequent and heavy snowfalls to occur across many parts of the UK during November, December and January at present.

'I initially expect frequent and significant snowfalls across many northern regions and Scotland throughout this winter.

'Any earlier snowfall is likely to be more confined to northern and western parts of the UK, although large scale low pressure systems also offer the potential for significant snowfalls to many parts of the UK.

'I also expect November, December, January and February to feature largely below-average temperatures across many parts of the UK, it is likely that temperature and snowfall records will be broken within this defined time frame.'

And a BBQ Summer heatwave next year, no doubt.
Why do we give these people air time ? Weather forecasting beyond 5 days is pretty rubbish - 3 or 4 months is pure guesswork. Let's see how well he does.

Is this all we have to fear at the moment? No doubt the tabloids will cook up some tenuous threat from brown people just before we aren't all frozen to death.

Was the report in the Express?

That pile of shite says guess what it will be cold in winter and even more shocking warm in the summer.

One week recently they had two pensions are booming stories interspersed with pensions will be hit by some EU nonsense, which was all untrue as usual.

Still judging by the readers comments certain tory mugs lapped it up

Apparently it is and they are installing it in the new megamosque in Norwich in order to freeze East Anglia so that all you Kaffirs are frozen to death and when it thaws out they will be in by the boatload and moving into your house Canny.
I hope that Boiler of yours isn't playing up again because your Mrs will be boiling many pots of hot water to keep you squeaky clean over the next few months because we can't have you succumbing to hypothermia and islamic hoardes breaking down your front door without retaliation.
At least you and the Mrs can bugger of the Thailand if it gets too cold.
How is Mrs Canny enjoying her British Citizenship?? An anniversary must be approaching?

As for Norfolk - there are just too many fields full of pigs here... for some people anyway

"the knuckle draggjng lot in Norfolk.."

Just how we like to be portrayed...

Remember how posters on SOL were continually moaning on about how we here in Norfolk 'suffered' none of the problems of an 'Islamic Invasion', unlike their beloved London ?

Ever wonder why ???

More seriously thousands of pensioners will lose £50 off their winter fuel allowance this year and thousands more will lose their winter fuel payments entirely because they are not on means tested benefits.

I agree Jack. If only Labour had not taxed and spent to the hilt. All those boasts of improving life for millions abroad ensured we now have no money for basic neccessities for our own people at home.
Treasonous bastards that Labour party shower for turning their backs on their own homeless and elderly in favour of pet projects abroad for which they were happy to grab the limelight. What a load of Wanchors!
The sad fact is people blame the coalition for all the cuts but what choice hey? People forget who caused this mess and that is why they will get voted back in,at which point a life abroad would be far more preferable.
