One of the reasons countries like Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia were economically subservant to Germany was the DEBT. The amount Germany owed to Central and E&SE Europe was massive.was massive. You ignore WW1 reparations. They were unpaid. Foreign debt was at record levels and Germany just defaulted. The unification of German people is also a misnomer as many Germans lived outside Germany, like Swabians. The development of VW was going to happen naturally as it happened at Mercedes. Most developed countries were working on improving roads, education for children and improving various technologies including air/rocket.
