A court has convicted 31 Hindus for killing dozens of Muslims by setting a building on fire during one of India's worst rounds of communal violence nine years ago.

Judge S.T. Srivastava, however, acquitted 41 Hindus of murder charges for lack of evidence. The judge will sentence those convicted later this week. They face the death penalty.

I recall all those events and even a mosque being torn down with bare hands,it was pretty savage.

There are many muslims in India and indeed the world and this little snippet I found shows that our bnp are mirrored by a hindu version.

The Pew Forum’s Associate Director of Research Alan Cooperman said one of the main findings is that the Muslim population worldwide is expected to grow at about twice the rate for non-Muslims. “So if, current trends continue, Muslims will make up 26.4 per cent of the world’s total projected population of 8.3 billion in 2030, up from 23.4 per cent of the estimated 2010 world population of 6.9 billion” he said.

The study reveals that Pakistan may surpass Indonesia as the world’s most populous Muslim nation while the Indian Muslims’ number is estimated to cross 23.6 crore (236 million) in 2030, as the community’s population worldwide is expected to grow about twice the rate of non-Muslims in the next two decades, says a study.

According to this report, India is projected to have a Muslim population of 23,6182,000 in 2030; which would be nearly 16 per cent of the then Indian population. And in 2010, India is estimated to have 177,286,000 Muslims, which is 14.6 per cent of the total Indian population.

With a projected population of 256,117,000 in 2030, Pakistan is expected to surpass Indonesia as the country with the single largest Muslim population.

In 2010, Pakistan has an estimated Muslim population of 178,097,000.

The report said, world’s Muslim population is expected to increase by about 35 per cent in the next 20 years, rising from 1.6 billion in 2010 to 2.2 billion by 2030.

It was all pretty dreadful. There was also that business of a train being set on fire and many Hindus were killed. Several people were convicted of that earlier this year I think.

Both times it was widely reported, the latest being in Egypt this year.

400,000 christians and ethnic african tribes killed by arabic muslim army .

400,000 plus african christians and ethnic tribal africans have been killed and nearly 2.5 million have been driven from their homes in a bid by the islamic government of sudan supported by, iran,syria, saudia arabia, algeria and many other muslim countrys in a bid to kill all "infidels""(non-muslims) in their country in order for islam to be the domiant mainstay in the sudan. this is the biggest genocide since the holocaust and is being perpetuated by islamic governments as of right NOW. not 1235 or 1450 or the middle ages. IT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW. thousands of people every day are being killed by the arabic janjaweed miltia. this needs to be stopped in any way possible. call your local congressman or senator. put pressure on your local officals. make your voices heard on this issue. this is 2007, islam should not be spread by the end of a sword.

The same group, from a movement known as Hindutva, carried out systematic attacks on Christians in the Orissa area for three years running. In many areas Muslim militia protected Christian worshippers and protected their Churches while Chirstmas masses were said, in return Christians protected Mosques while Eid celebrations went ahead.

Hindutva is based on the idea that India, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka are Hindu lands and anyone who is not a Hindu must be force to leave or murderered.

Well thank god for that Jack and I am surprised that muslims only make up 16% of the population given all that time under the mughal emperors.
