A row has broken out in Norway after a secondary school segregated students with ethnic backgrounds in classes away from white Norwegians.

Bjerke Upper Secondary School in Oslo filled one of the three general studies sets solely with pupils with immigrant parents, after many white Norwegians from last year's intake changed schools.

Robert Wright, a Christian Democrat politician and former head of the city's schools board, argued that the authorities had been wrong to block the move. He also said that other Oslo schools should start to segregate classes to prevent a situation of "white flight" developing.

Students at the school have expressed their anger at the segregation. "This is apartheid. They do this because I'm from Africa and my father is from Africa," said Ilias Mohamed, 17, from Somalia, who was part of the immigrant-only class. "But everyone of us is a Norwegian."

Hibba Tudorache, 18, whose parents came to Norway from Romania, said: "The students are really mad about this. It's an insult to those of us who are from other countries. It's discriminatory to put the white Norwegian people before us."

I suppose you are now saying there is not white flight???

You need only look at Inner London Schools, where you get a lot of ethnics, white people will leave. Where I used to live I was looking around for nurserys there was one in particular that was predominantly black I'd say around 96%, there was no way I was going to send my child there. I eventually found one with a few and that's fine. When the parents were invited to the christimas celebrations other parents said the same thing.

It is not a crime wanting to amongst people whom you identify with. That does not make you a racist.

As for Buddhists--go tell that to the Tamils in Sri Lanka who they crushed with their "Great Valued Merciless Ferocity!"

And there are a lot of Taoists in Japan and their "Good Values" seem to have been forgotten when entering Nanking and much of SE Asia thereafter??
