Whilst everyone is banging on about how Emma West (supposed racist comments on tram fame ) should be banged up perhaps the could compare the sense of Justice here;

A gang of Muslim women who repeatedly kicked another young woman in the head walked free from court after a judge heard they were " not used to being drunk" because of their religion" The mob were screaming "kill the white slag" during the ferocious attack on care worker Rhea Page. Violence erupted as one the Muslim girls called Miss Page a "white bitch".

This was an unprovoked attack as Rhea and her boyfriend walked to the taxi rank in Leicester City.

THIS IS QUITE CLEARLY A RACIST ATTACK YET THEY WERE NOT CHARGED WITH RACIAL AGGRAVATION.

Emma West did not harm anyone physically did not put anyone in hospital.

As Emma said this country's is well and truely SHAGGED and what's more so is its sense of justice!!!

Conclusion
While most of the papers did accurately report the events of the case, the prominence given to a small detail of the case creates a misleading interpretation of why the women received lesser sentences.
In reality, the article in the Mercury endorsed by the Judicial Office implies this was actually because of unreasonable force exerted by the victim's boyfriend on to the attackers.
It may be that this handling of the story reflects inexperience in reporting legal issues on the part of the journalists concerned. Lawyers and academics have warned about such effects from the decline in court reporting.
Since the papers state the Judge reached his decision 'after' hearing the mitigation about alcohol use, rather than 'because' of it, they are not directly reporting it incorrectly. However, it is important to make sure that this nuance is not lost in future reporting of the case, much like the Metro's headline.

Do you agree that if as a couple who try to batter a group of girls, the group of girls have a right to batter back with serious fucking interest? The fact - and this is indisputable as all sides said the same thing - is they girls didn't start the fight but they finished it with some serious interest.

but yes if in theory they had started it and he had hit one of them
they deserved vengeance
