SaintNickers wrote:KITHAKA the orphaned jumbo plays at a sanctuary — as an appeal last night went out for Brits to adopt abandoned baby elephants for Christmas.
Kithaka was found starving and alone in the jungle aged just seven days old after getting separated from his mother in Kenya.
He was fed formula milk and wrapped in blankets then flown 200 miles to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust sanctuary in Nairobi.
He now gets round-the-clock care from keeper Julius Shivegha, 35. The trust appealed for Brits to adopt elephant orphans by becoming online foster parents from £30 a year. UK director Rob Brandford said of Kithaka: "He's at a fragile age but the smaller the elephant the easier the rescue."

Yes an absolute cutie if you see his pic...saw this on the Sun homepage alone with all the other popups of "send your money to africa" campaigns, BUT why the British? there are plenty of rich people in Africa, so why not ask them? Have we really made ourselves look like the most gullible race in the World?
The elephant was found alone after being separeted from his parents, and they are asking us to donate £30 each???
I smell another scam which is trying to pull at the gullibles` heart strings.

it doesn`t say they are asking elsewhere, maybe they are, but the article said Brits.
Africa have its very rich elite, so why the hell can they not ask them? maybe the rich do not give a toss about its wildlife or people...nice
there are a few gold mines in Africa, maybe they should ask the people making money out of it! (mr epstein can not be that tight, surely)

Not racism? Why then did you choose to criticise Africa and not say, America, Brazil or Australia? And please dont say something silly like the elephant is African.
