America withdrawing Cold War Troops from Europe.
Now the EU Gravy Train needs to stop and rethink.
And not before time.

Why would you need an EU Army?
If you had one, how much do you reckon the Italians would kick in?
The UK would be in the same boat as we are. Paying for the defense of other countries.

No offence but EU has No Defence
This American move is something I have been hoping for because now all the EU common policies will have to be rethought.
We still have Ivan facing us with formidable forces but i would now prefer to think they would be more inclined to ally themselves with us against the common threat.
However Defence Spending in an allocated budget by the EU would ensure jobs in Defence(Armed Forces),Procurement,Research & Development and Manuafacturing and that is why it would be a great thing for EU.
Europes Manuafacturing and Exporting quality hardware--and some amazing Civilian spin offs come from R&D--would enable us to grow stronger, for at the moment we are a bloated, overly expensive,non-working conglomerate with lack of money and unworkable social programmes.
A bit of fear would focus the mind on innovation and rearmament and we really do need that--as EU lacks focus and is floundering

e.g. The British Army would not fill Wembley Stadium and only France has bigger armed forces than we do.
Truth is NATO is 90% American for the proper Dilbert who mentioned EU and Nato countries being one and the same.
Death Machines?? What a plank!
We could not defend the Isle of Wight from an Invasion without US help.
And now that is gone, who will defend Europe Dilbert??

We have more deployable troops in Fort Hood Texas, then the rest of NATO combined. Lets say Poland was invaded. None of the other NATO countries would have any troops to spare to defend Poland. They would have to keep them home in case they were needed there.
