A MOTHER drowned her baby daughter in a bucket while her "British" boyfriend watched live over the internet.

Norwegian Yasmin "Chaudhry" plunged the one-year-old girl head first into water during a 3am Skype video call.

Chaudhry, 26, had said she wanted to know how to discipline her baby for waking and "disobeying her".

Both Chaudhry and the "Briton" — who is not the girl's father and has not been named — have denied wanting to kill the child.

Well, having read the full report, there is no mention of 'honour killing'.

In fact, she had the baby BEFORE THEY EVEN MET, according to the report, as well as another infant.

They only ever met once, and only had an 'internet relationship'.

I agree with you about the Eastern World, it goes on far more than anyone would like to think it does, but it is not primarily a Muslim thing.

This child was female but that doesn't mean she was murdered because she was female, otherwise you could just as easliy argue that baby Peter was murdered because he was male.

Infanticide happens in all societies Frank, and it has done for ever. That doesn't mean it's right of course but it isn't a new thing by a long shot.

Poverty is most likely to be the biggest factor Mark and I never said it was a religion thing. Frank is the one who believes that, however I still maintain that India is the biggest perpetrator of sex selective infanticide.

in China nowadays, they are more likely to be aborted before birth than murdered after it. Apparently ultrasound is illegal in China but there are reports of radiographers in vans offering scans to determine the sex of the fetus.
