it emerged this weekend that 30 per cent of all beef in France is slaughtered according to halal or kosher rules, and only a small part is labelled.

Meat wholesalers, supermarkets and religious leaders say this is the best way to keep down the price.

And it's not just beef, of course.

Just thought I would mention it, as at least one person on here won't eat certain food and in certain establishments for fear of encountering Halal meat. Oh, and I believe they have a house in France lol.

Exsanguination is a more humane method of slaughter.

My veal is bled to death in the birth canal to ensure it never draws breath.
