Before the Brexit vote, just under a year ago, the UK economy was flying high, outgrowing Germany, Japan and the US.

Now Britain is languishing alongside Italy, whose economy also grew at 0.2 per cent in the first quarter of the year.

If the EU is falling to pieces then the UK must be in a far worse state of affairs. :shake head:

We are currently surviving on a rush of exports and tourism, as foreign buyers and visitors take advantage of the weakness of the GBP following the Brexit vote.

Sadly, what goes around comes around, and we are already seeing prices and inflation rising, and if the prices don't go up, the pack sizes shrink....

We really are in trouble.

Pack sizes have been shrinking for decades. A full size Mars bar was 65gr.

And wagon wheels were literally the size of wagon wheels....

They have, quietly and on fairly rare occasions shrunk. But since July last year there has been a veritable epidemic.

"Hundreds of supermarket items have shrunk in size while their price has been kept the same or even increased, the consumer group Which? has warned."

As the main shopper in the house, I have been watching this go on for ages, and was sitting the other night saying that that's what they do - shrink the size - rather than raise the price, but do they think we don't notice?

And pmsling at the Wagon Wheels comment - as I had lifted a pack a few days ago and was shocked to see the size of them ! We really are being squeezed from all sides.
