Not according to that article. Construction industry already being held back by skill shortage. Losing all those brickies due to closed borders will see construction grind to a halt.

...and wages go up for british brickies..but thats just the sort of person you despise though aint it.

LOL at construction firms just paying "sky high wages" like it ain't no biggie. More likely they cut back on construction, epecially at a time when brexit is making things uncertain for them:

“Uncertainties due to Brexit continue to weigh on companies’ investment and hiring decisions, and banks appear to be adopting a more cautious stance to providing finance. Meanwhile, challenges related to an inadequate supply of skilled labour are as pronounced as ever.”

New Zealand launches biggest ever drive to attract Brexit Britain's builders

New Zealand has launched a campaign to lure thousands of UK construction workers away from their wintry building sites to deliver the country’s biggest ever infrastructure and housing program.

An estimated 65,000 new construction workers will be needed over the next five years to meet demand, forcing the industry to work with the government to create what is the largest ever recruitment drive for UK workers.

I think the construction industry understands the market forces effecting them better than you. Which is why they are saying this is bad news

I even quoted them explaining these market forces for you:

“Uncertainties due to Brexit continue to weigh on companies’ investment and hiring decisions, and banks appear to be adopting a more cautious stance to providing finance. Meanwhile, challenges related to an inadequate supply of skilled labour are as pronounced as ever.”

From The Scum article you posted:

The warning came a day after construction giants warned they were facing a “cliff edge” due to Brexit.

They called on the Government to implement a post-Brexit migration a system based on allowing in workers in short-supply rather than “arbitrary thresholds”.

No. The construction industry loves ever cheaper labour to exploit from undeveloped countries. So are now remoaning like fuck as market forces are going to force wages up.

Try and not be such a simpleton. The key to understanding most things is simple. Look at someone, the market forces they are subject to and then judge the veracity of their claims.

More likely they will just stop building as it wont be profitable.

Already starting to happen:

"Growth in output in the construction sector and the wider industry skills shortage continued to place upward pressure on sub-contractor costs, particularly for trades such as bricklayers and scaffolders," Bellway said.

The lack of skilled workers is pushing up the wages they are able to demand, impacting the profitability of companies, and most importantly, limiting the number of homes that can be built.

http://www.hl.co.uk/news/2017/10/17/a-l ... even-worse

Even bigger problem is lack of finance - banks more reluctant to lend. Unprofitable projects paying "sky high wages" are hardly gonna make the banks dish out the cash needed.

Welcome to capitalism

Net migration down by over 100,000.

Still, way, way, way too high - but a step in the right direction nonetheless.

266,000 fine folk from outside the EU entered the UK (Year Ending March 2017) - but only ...

86,000 from outside the EU left the UK.

Not a great day for racist Brexiteers one would of thought but apparently they're happy that many EU professionals have left.

Strange lot.
