That's £3000 over the lifetime of Trident, which is 30 years; equating to £100 per year.

Course, that sum also isn't divided between the entire population either.
There are around 10m under-18s in the UK and around 9m pensioners, who won't be contributing as much, thus leaving around 38m people of working age.
We currently have around 74% employment which means the majority of the burden falls on 28m people.

Which equates to £200 a year from every working person.

Not really the sort of expense that's going to change your life but, hell, we've all got better things to spend it on.

You might be able to buy a derelict 3 bedroom house in Wallsend for £3,000 but there won't be enough so everybody can have one and there certainly won't be enough left over from £3000 to give everybody, erm, £10,000 per year.
