If it was up to me I'd keep the submarines but just cobble up some fake nukes out of steel pipe and then not tell anybody.
In the unlikely event of a war, I'm sure whoever we were allied to would be willing to provide real missiles. :ooer:
Cost per person: £2974

I don't have nearly 3 grand a year to spend on nuclear weapons..
do you..?

And the bairn.

im pretty sure she's not funding nuclear proliferation...

Yeah, but she's owed 3 grand - save on her student debt when we scrap it.

im sure u don't either si

That's £3000 over the lifetime of Trident, which is 30 years; equating to £100 per year.

Course, that sum also isn't divided between the entire population either.
There are around 10m under-18s in the UK and around 9m pensioners, who won't be contributing as much, thus leaving around 38m people of working age.
We currently have around 74% employment which means the majority of the burden falls on 28m people.

Which equates to £200 a year from every working person.

Not really the sort of expense that's going to change your life but, hell, we've all got better things to spend it on.

ffs...
:shake head:

Projected lifetime cost of Trident: £167 billion.
UK population: 56.14 million people.
Cost per person: £2974

You might be able to buy a derelict 3 bedroom house in Wallsend for £3,000 but there won't be enough so everybody can have one and there certainly won't be enough left over from £3000 to give everybody, erm, £10,000 per year.

Has Diane Abbott been helping you with your maths homework again?

questionable maths aside u understood the principle of a total waste of money..

So it's ok for you to make shit up and post it on a forum?

it is up to you to choose the truth from the chaos..

Cladding to be removed from NINE Salford tower blocks after Grenfell Tower fire
They are not waiting for tests just ripping it all out at whatever cost.
