I think had the new age traveller bit been a little earlier in my hippy days I could have gone for that for a while but ... most of the young new age travellers were very environmentally aware on the whole and wouldn't dream of decimating the environment.
The destruction and the theiving especially in rural areas of tools machinery quad bikes even tractors and livestock is dreadful.
The message here is don't bother coming because we'll make your life hell in whatever way we can until you're gone.
Think back a couple of generations and they were mostly welcome in season for fruit picking and harvest time in these very same areas.
So to say it's racist doesn't really wash.
People simply don't want a band of theives and drunkards arriving and leaving.
Another problem with these bandit groups is you have nop idea who is t6ravelling with them and a lot of the time their hospitality means they don't either.
Not wanted not welcome stay away.
In fact I propose they set up camp as near to your flat as is possible!
You could give us a daily report on how your environment is rapidly decaying and how you go to them each day to ask them to desist in their destruction.
You could even maybe set up a small educational team for while they're there.
Now this is why you're so hated .... this is what you must do to get the townsfolk to be happy on your arrival ..... somehow I don't think you'd get very far.

This police report might make you understand the awful disruption they cause to people around here. Urinating through letterboxes, drunkenness, abuse, theft, it just goes on and on.

This report is about 10 years old and each year the event gets bigger and bigger so I'd say we are looking at maybe 1000 people this year.

Putting the barriers down is hardly evicting anyone, you need to look into that a bit.

As for anti-social behaviour, get more police in if you can afford it.

When i was there yesterday the big caged council lorries were just entering the car park to start clearing the mess they left. If the gypsies were made to at least bag their rubbish up that would save them a lot of Work.

if you're that keen to have them moved on, volunteer to clean up with some of the business owners you claim have suffered losses.
