Luckily for Trump and the GOP it seems the Democrats haven't learned a damn thing from the last year :brickwall:

Continuing to purge the party of its progressive wing - the Bernie Sanders supporters - the same week it emerged that Sanders is currently polling the highest amongst potential candidates in 2020.

Centrists gonna act like centrists though :off head:

It doesn't matter what hat she is wearing. No one is about to take fashions lessons from some eccentric old woman.
It also does not matter whether or not some fools take offence too easily.

The ONLY issue here is: ... did Trump say those awful words or not?
John Kelly's attempt to diffuse the situation made it worse, plus he contradicted himself totally.
He said he instructed the president on what to say, including telling the family that Johnson "knew what he was getting himself into," ....

Ooooops! :ooer:

I've always liked John F. Kelly tho. (interesting initials there !). I suspect he can't even stand the sight of Trump, deep down.
Reckon he took the white house job purely because he loves America and wants to keep a close eye on a POTUS whose volatility could make him dangerous.

Sex scandals nothing proven.
Russian involvement nothing proven.
And now Some dumb cunt who wears a cowboy hat to stand out twists a private phone call to a war widow who states herself she can't remember if what the senator says is true (which means it's not)
All it's doing is helping Trump as more and more Americans see what's happening and are getting more pissed off by it.
The media is now on the verge of becoming extinct. As the young get their news from and verify it themselves from other sources.

Is it? Surely this is bad news for Bannon, Murdoch & co with their huge media empires?

''As the young get their news from and verify it themselves from other sources''
Many news sources are fake tho. Fakery has spawned a HUGE industry and sadly it's doing good business.
Best road is to teach our young good from bad, and just let them go with their instincts.

Fake news is mostly from the main stream media that's the point.
The propaganda about nations and their leaders before we destroy them.
The propaganda while we are destroying them.
Economic news etc.
Luckily as the article says people are getting their news from other sources now.
The latest stuff about Iran and America tearing up the nuclear agreement is fooling no one as whole nations let alone individuals are saying enough is enough.
France and Germany are being pushed ever closer to Russia and China because of all the bullshit from America and to be fair from here too.

A 4-Star Marine General's integrity should not be questioned, according to that talking head, Huckerbee-Sanders :woteva:

Not even when that General is retired. Or working in the People's House, on the taxpayers' payroll. And certainly not when said revered General leaves his integrity and core values outside the Press Room door, and then resorts to lying and trashing an elderly lady, in order to clean up his boss's latest shitstorm.

John Pilger one of the most respected journalists on the planet coined the term presstitutes for doing the bidding of governments and corporations instead of reporting the truth to the people.

Pilger not long ago stood by the gates of Downing street hitting on journalists instead of politicians for part of one of his documentaries.
He kept pulling up tv and newspaper journos and asking if they felt ashamed having become mouthpieces for power instead of doing honest journalism.
He was ignored and physically pushed away by BBC reporters and commentators same with the Murdoch types.
One guy ... Rageh Omaar stopped and talked and agreed with Pilger ... he wasn't seen on tv again for a couple of years.

Pilger was an exeptional journalist, Rolly - a true one-off.

He must be pushing 80 now. I wonder if he'd be up for taking a crack at Fox's rabble-rousing jerks, Hannity and Carlson :gigglesnshit:

He must be something like that yeah!
He's still travelling the world still reporting and because he's so honest he has to be an independant as he has been for many years now.
The MSM occasionally carry something by him.
Still making documentaries too.
Just go check his age ...... 78.

IKR??!
Add to that the "all hat and no cattle" put-down from that Sanders hag - all pearls and no bloody poise, more like

I'm not too enamoured of Congresswoman Wilson, if I'm honest, because I think she bolloxed her handling of the whole situation. But for Kelly to do such a hatchet job on her - ffs...!

Given the totally amoral sociopath he works for, I'm frankly stunned by all the things Kelly said he's "STUNNED!" by in his speech. What a hypocritical sellout he turned out to be

Why does your post remind me of the famous man in the white suit? MARTIN BELLL !!

Bell was one of the most honest politicians in Britain, he was a war correspondent who decided to run as an independent.

Disgusted with the brown envelopes and cash-for-questions saga, he came in to clean up local politics in cheshire.

Took on one of the safest tory seats and thrashed the incumbent, Hamilton to smitherins. The rest is history.

Food for thought maybe?

“Above All” – America’s Military Junta Expands Its Claim to Power

n an advertising campaign in 2008 the U.S. Air Force declared itself to be “Above All”. The slogan and symbol of the campaign was similar to the German “Deutschland Über Alles” campaign of 1933. It was a sign of things to come.

On Thursday Masha Gessen watched the press briefing of White House Chief of Staff General John Kelly and concluded:

The press briefing could serve as a preview of what a military coup in this country would look like, for it was in the logic of such a coup that Kelly advanced his four arguments.

Those who criticize the President don’t know what they’re talking about because they haven’t served in the military. …
The President did the right thing because he did exactly what his general told him to do. …
Communication between the President and a military widow is no one’s business but theirs. …
Citizens are ranked based on their proximity to dying for their country. …
Gessen is late. The coup happened months ago. A military junta is in strong control of White House polices. It is now widening its claim to power.

All along Trump has been the candidate of the military. The other two power centers of the po>>>>>>> https://www.globalresearch.ca/above-all ... er/5614611

General Kelly’s Tirade and the Threat of Military Dictatorship in America
The episode encapsulated not merely the sociopathic personality of the US president, but the attitude of America’s ruling oligarchy toward the members of the all-volunteer army that it employs to pursue its profit interests by means of military aggression all over the world.

Kelly, however, spoke, with a distinct tone of bitterness and resentment, as the representative of a military caste that has become increasingly alienated from and hostile to civilian society and civilian authority.

“They are the best 1 percent this country produces,” he said, referring to Washington’s all-volunteer military. “Most of you, as Americans, don’t know them. Many of you don’t know anyone who knows any one of them. But they are the very best this country produces, and they volunteer to protect our country when there’s nothing in our country anymore that seems to suggest that selfless service to the nation is not only appropriate, but required. But that’s all right.”

He went on to compound his defense of the military against supposed civilian contempt and indifference with the expression of extreme right-wing views.

“You know, when I was a kid growing up, a lot of things were sacred in our country,” he said. “Women were sacred, looked upon with great honor. That’s obviously not the case anymore as we see from recent cases. Life—the dignity of life—is sacred. That’s gone. Religion, that seems to be gone as well.”

While the invocation of women and religion as “sacred” hardly calls to mind the image of Donald Trump, it does resonate, along with “the dignity of life,” i.e., the banning of abortion, with the key political constituency of the Christian right.

The appointment of Kelly, like that of Gen. James “Mad Dog” Mattis (ret.) as secretary of defense and active-duty Gen. H.R. McMaster as national security advisor, was supported by the Democratic Party and the media as a welcome turn by the Trump administration. The New York Times referred to the retired and active-duty generals that dominate the Trump cabinet as “the adults in the room,” while the Washington Post referred to them as “voices for moderation” and “moral authorities.”

Kelly’s extraordinary intervention at Thursday’s White House press conference constitutes a sharp warning. Anyone who thinks that “it can’t happen here,” that a US government that has sponsored countless coups and regime-change operations around the globe cannot itself become the target of a military takeover, is making a serious political mistake.
