THEY didn't mention police brutality against independence marchers - mainly because it happened a few days before and was old news.

As for "the people of Catalan overwhelmingly want independence" - what do you base that gem on ? Surely not the mere 38% turnout meaning that LESS THAN 1/3 OF CATALANS BOTHERED TO TURN OUT TO VOTE FOR INDEPENDENCE ? Are you dismissing the other 2/3s, most of whom were believed to have boycotted what they considered to be an illegal referendum ?
