Because a person who has committed war crimes has not done it for the good of humanity.
Were the generals of Sadam Hussain or Hitler brave in your opinion?

The title 'War Criminal' is reserved for the losers of any conflict by the winners, it's no different from the phrase 'history is written by the victors'

In the Balkan wars there were many 'War Criminals' on both sides, only Serbian backed Christians were branded and prosecuted as such.
