If this is per single visit it may help, if not the fee should increase as operations cost £thousands..

That should help to stop the flow of Highly paid and generous Tax Paying Non EU migrants from coming to this Country

They already need to prove they earn more than £35.000 before tax to get a visa
Just what the NHS wants at this time of cuts. ( The "brightest and the best" will look elsewhere)

You must hate my country, SB which leads me to believe you are NOT one of us, why do you agree with depriving the ailing NHS contributors of my islamd??????????????????? and give their money to strangers?????????????????????

Come here and open thine eyes

Starbold, you seem to be unable to differentiate between EU Migrants and Non EU Migrants.

EU Migrants are those that can travel freely between EU Countries they are the ones that pick rotting fruit from our trees and the rotting vegetables in our fields, because our own cant be bothered with that sort of job , since the referendum their numbers have significantly dropped, a problem our Farmers are getting Worried about .
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/migration-to-uk-down-by-100000-since-brexit-a3705991.html

Non EU Migrants are those from Countries that have to apply for a visa for entry and work in this Country, those people are the high earners and high tax payers into this Country, Doctors/Surgeons/Nurses/Midwives/Scientists/ Banking and Business Professionals, when they apply for a visa they have to prove they will be earning in excess of £35.000 per year ,
these people besides the EU Migrants are needed in this Country for its economy.

And it aint your "Islamd"

If you are referring to the young, fit migrants who come here to work - and rarely if ever use the NHS - they actually pay for the odd occasions they may fall ill via 2 methods. One being through paying the same taxes we all pay (Income Tax, NI, VAT) and they also ALL pay a flat £200 levy on their visas to come here specifically to pay for the odd medical treatment. Even then, charges for patients from countries in the European Economic Area are claimed back by the NHS from their country of residence.

If you are referring to other overseas visitors, services provided in or linked to a hospital in England t so-called 'Health Tourists' are required to charge for overseas visitors. If they don't, it is down to the inefficiency of the hospital. Not the visitor.

Of course, there are others deliberately defrauding the system - expats being a prime example. And we all know how that works. There is NO ENTITLEMENT for NHS treatment for those living outside the UK for more than 6 months in any year.

So - half the world ? Not even close.

All in all, around £2bn is spent on treatment for 'visitors' (includes students, expats, holidaymakers) of which about half is recovered. Leaving the cost to the NHS of £1bn a year. Or less than 1% of the NHS budget of £126bn p.a. So, very much like the furore over benefit fraud which amounts to a similar percentage of budget, the argument that we spend vast sums on 'visitors health problems' is vastly over-egged.

You're still flogging the idea that migrants 'rarely' or 'if ever' use the NHS :pmsl:

That's hospitals, doctors, midwives, dentists and opticians? LoL you told us last time that migrants under 30 don't wear glasses. It seems they also never get ill, have babies or get toothache.

And what makes you think all migrants that come here are 'young and fit' and eager to work?

What a strange world you live in.

Honestly, if it isn't gross stupidity in your case, what else can it be ?

For MOST PEOPLE eye problems start at around 40 years old. That's a simple fact.

Most young people coming to this country who happen to need glasses WILL HAVE NEEDED THEM BEFORE, AND ALREADY HAVE THEM !! Obvious to even the thickest among us, surely ?

There's barely an NHS dentist to be found these days, and we all pay through the nose for dental treatment - foreign visitors included. And any dentist in private practice (most are) will welcome you with open arms.

"what makes you think all migrants that come here are 'young and fit' and eager to work?" Why the fuck else do you think they come here ? No entitlement to benefits worthy of the name, and if you think they are here to scrounge you are truly blind as well as bonkers. It isn't but a few posts ago that you and your ilk were squealing on about how they were 'stealing our jobs' and 'lowering our wages by working for pennies'.

FFS make your mind up.

In the modern world people are on the move.
Living here working there.
The traffic is going in many directions and never stops.
Yet there are neanderthals on here that think the U.K should be no part of this modern world.
The world cannot stand still.
The world and its institutions cannot and will not stand still.
It is all changing and has to change.
Why are so many big strong men so frightened?

LMAO about this glasses and dentist point of yours. People visit opticians and dentists at any age - as and when the need arises - migrants and non-migrants alike. Have you never seen a child/teenager/20 or 30 something at the opticians or dentists?

Do you think migrants that come here already wearing glasses, will keep that same pair for life? Or will never get toothache? You must be on the wind up, no one can be this daft surely?

Migrants come in all ages, shapes and sizes - why do you think they are all young and fit? So much so, they never need to use the NHS? How about the NHS maternity care for their massive families?

So if any one of us were to go into hospital, the doctors, opticians or dentists - we would only see indigenous Brits in the waiting rooms?

That you think migrants 'rarely' or 'if ever' use the NHS, is one of the funniest things I've read on here, since, well....since you said it last time!

Hoe can you tell whether someone is indigenous or not just by looking at them?

I doubt a single one of them protesting could tell you either what the problems are, or how to solve them....

And as long as we ignore the underlying issues, the problem will remain, regardless of how much cash you throw at it.

Really...

Then you'll have no trouble explaining how during the many other times the Tories have been in power, they haven't got rid of the NHS...

Best of luck.
