I this does happen the shareholders won't just take a haircut most will be wiped out, that's not the problem.

The problem is that Carillion have a vast number of contracts with the government and look after about 600 schools providing facilities management to ensure basic health and safety for children - that's not something we can let slip for even one day.

Lol fair comment. Might cost £1.5bn but if your going to spend that anyway why not?

The shares were £3 or so. They were 20p yesterday, and 14p now.

That looks more like a head shave than a haircut.

Lots of MOD establishments maintained by them too, including where I work.

And all the money from government contracts just disappeared...

Been talked about for a while yet this government saw fit to award them HS2 contract.

The tax payer will have to step in, yet again, just like the East Coast mainline and the care homes when they disappeared with the money.

Still the obedient sheep will bleat private good public bad.

The work will still have to be done, the debts towards Kier are a concern and the ripple effect hits Virridor as well. There goes the waste disposal industry.

I'm not too sure about a rescue at this point.

I think it will have to be bailed but maybe a blurred bailed.
Lots of smoke and mirrors that will of course be exposed soonish and TPTB know this so I think it will be bailed by ... the great British mugs who keep voting for this kind of lunacy and the rest of us too.
Greed and a complete lack of morals seems to be destroying capitalism.

Banks got to big old folks homes got too big and Bransons NHS will get to big.
The almost complete privatisation of the NHS will cause its collapse once it stops being funded by the taxpayer.
Watch this space.
These Eton ideologist extremists have never owned or run anything in their lives.
It's all daddies and grandpas money and they have a strong feeling of entitlement and superiority.
There's a similar situation on Wall st.
Educated stupidity and greed.
No hard work experience.
No morals.
The death of empires.

Welcome to British democracy.
General election and we get three millionaire lawyers to chose from.
Ok that's simplifying it a bit and occasionally an outsider like Corbyn appears.
