There is no excuse for them at that age, be it modesty or religion.
Adults can feel free to wear what they want, girls up to 16 or 18 can be directed by their parents.
Total bans on bits of clothing simply bring us down to Taleban level. We have pretty good freedoms as to what we wear - let's keep them.

Wearing a scarf doesn't result in male domination...It is a requirement of Muslims by Islam as a religion...Infact all Abrahamic religions mention covering hair for its followers.

Ahh, Puzz set me right (you don't hear that often!) "the burkha and niqab"
I was thinking of those, not the head scarf. Even then I think it's outdated nonsense, as is any religion. Many followers don't wear one so it's not essential.
Why indoctrinate kids with any sort of religion?
Puzzler wrote:I wouldn’t ban the hijab for adults(some are quite colourful and elaborate) but would WITHOUT HESITATION ban the burkha and niqab - they are either forced upon the wearer or worn as a sign of sympathy with ISIS and similar groups - one look at the Sharia 4 France protest will tell you that, or alternatively just google ‘niqab protest’ and look at the charming jihadette wannabes for yourself. One protest even had signs about Sharia 4 Angola - that’s right, these jihadette scum want to take over African countries as well. Racist slags.
