Jeremy Corbyn has dismissed as a “ridiculous smear” a story in the Sun alleging that he briefed a Czechoslovakian communist spy during the cold war.

A spokesman for the Labour leader said he met a Czechoslovakian diplomat in the 1980s but “neither had nor offered any privileged information”.
