Labour takes commanding poll lead over Tories

EXCLUSIVE: Survation - which accurately predicted last year’s election result - puts Jeremy Corbyn on 44%, with Theresa May trailing on 37% and the Lib Dems notching up just 9%

Labour has surged to a 7% poll lead amid fears that ongoing brutal cuts by the Tories will spark a recession.

Survation, which accurately predicted last year’s election result, puts Jeremy Corbyn on 44%, with Theresa May’s Conservative Party trailing on 37% and the Lib Dems notching just 9%.

Half of those polled said they expect the UK to slide into a recession within the next two years and 62% said they want this week’s Spring Budget Statement to announce a real-terms increase in spending on public services.

Some 48% who voted Tory at the last general election think cuts have gone too far.

A poll lead a year after the election isn't worth much. May's government is a shitshow but I don't think another snap election is on the cards. There's only ever one poll that counts.

Agreed!

But even if that lead was slashed a bit that would still see Labour in office with a small mandate, but a mandate none the less..

The May elections will be the catalyst towards the next Labour government.

If you study history and politics then you will realise that Labour will get in again!...Once the infrastructure and public services are decimated by the Tories then those situations always have returned Labour governments!

Now we see a situation where the Tories could be kept out for decades as the Tories can't get the young people on board at all!

Tories get more fed up when we start to get pot holes in our roads again in London, then we have burst water mains.

...And the streets in the suburbs aren't getting cleaned...then anyone that can be bothered has to do it themselves! :more beer:

Are the Great British Public finally 'getting it' ?

Here's hoping that the appalling mess being made of Brexit, the economy, public services, as well as their very own internal civil war has come home to roost.

How desperate do you have to be to post a counter poll which also shows Labour in the lead? :pmsl:

Survation are the best pollsters and were very accurate for the EU ref, 2015 and 2017 GE's.

The fact that Tory owned YouGov shows a Lab lead must be really galling for Tories everywhere.
Good call.
