Trump Firm Hacks Facebook

Whistleblower describes how firm linked to former Trump adviser Steve Bannon compiled user data to target American voters

The data analytics firm that worked with Donald Trump’s election team and the winning Brexit campaign harvested millions of Facebook profiles of US voters, in the tech giant’s biggest ever data breach, and used them to build a powerful software program to predict and influence choices at the ballot box.

Separately, the Electoral Commission is also investigating what role Cambridge Analytica played in the EU referendum.

Channel 4 news did a lengthy report on this now uploaded to YT. An obvious geek his claims are pretty mind boggling and worth a listen.

Cambridge Analytica's boss is now under fire over misleading MP's about it's use of data from Facebook. Seems he's not been honest about what he knew.

I got into CA early, GLP were bleating on about it ages ago. Watching Brexit and Trump was like watching a carpet being unrolled.

Which needs a serious deep clean. Probably more cost effective to chuck it out and replace with a new one!

We have the new world order now but not the one that we were cautioned about.

More deep state stuff as Channel 4 go undercover. Staggering revelations.

In one exchange, when asked about digging up material on political opponents, Alexander Nix, CEO of Cambridge Analytica said they could “send some girls around to the candidate’s house”, adding that Ukrainian girls “are very beautiful, I find that works very well”.

In another he said: “We’ll offer a large amount of money to the candidate, to finance his campaign in exchange for land for instance, we’ll have the whole thing recorded, we’ll blank out the face of our guy and we post it on the Internet.”

Offering bribes to public officials is an offence under both the UK Bribery Act and the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Cambridge Analytica operates in the UK and is registered in the United States.

And Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham who is now seeking a warrant to access Cambridge Analyticas offices in London..but Facebook are already there.

And Tory MP Damien Collins is absolutely right on what troubles him over this too!

Data You Can Believe In
The Obama Campaign’s Digital Masterminds Cash In

By JIM RUTENBERGJUNE 20, 2013

To understand how it works, you must first understand the vast technological engine that powered the campaign but remained largely out of view of the public and the press. Messina, the campaign manager, often boasted about how the Obama 2012 effort would be “the most data-driven campaign ever.” But what that truly meant — the extent to which the campaign used the newest tech tools to look into people’s lives and the sheer amount of personal data its vast servers were crunching — remained largely shrouded. The secrecy around the operation was partly because the president’s strategists wanted to maintain their competitive edge. But it was also no doubt because they worried that practices like “data mining” and “analytics” could make voters uncomfortable.

WHOA! Obama Campaign Manager Admits Facebook Sided with Obama in 2012 and Allowed MASSIVE Data Mining

Replying to @cld276
Facebook was surprised we were able to suck out the whole social graph, but they didn’t stop us once they realized that was what we were doing.

Carol Davidsen

@cld276
They came to office in the days following election recruiting & were very candid that they allowed us to do things they wouldn’t have allowed someone else to do because they were on our side.

Obama Presidency has been and gone. You guys need to concentrate your ire on the current White House inhabitant and question the credibility of that campaign...not one which is past and served. Trumps campaign wasn't the only thing Cambridge Analytica 'engineered' either. They also have the dubious 'honour' of being linked to the Brexit campaign.
