George Bush and Ronald Reagan must have been lefties because they massively increased government.

"He'll be 72

1. You don't know when the next election will be.
2. Why not, even at 72 ? He appears fit. Gladstone was PM at 82;

A common anti-socialist tactic is using blatant slander. Most of us have seen the , mostly American , conservatives who claim that Hitler was a left-wing socialist. This historically revisionist lie has even started getting used by European conservatives in my experience, especially since the Internet has made it easier for them to exchange ideas and tactics in order to slander socialists.

Myth number 1: Hitler said that the National Socialists are enemies of the capitalist system.

Truth: That is a quote falsely attributed to Adolf Hitler. It was in fact one of the Strassers who originally said it. The Strassers were the more "left-wing" of the National Socialist party but they were later purged.

Myth number 2: Hitler enforced socialist policies

Truth: The Nazi regime privatized a lot of industries and the private companies had a lot of freedom even when it came to war-related projects

Myth number 3: The Nazi were left-wing because they supported "big government".

crie what an idiotic post....Hiter wanted what was best for his war machine. He let german companies do what they wanted as long as they produced the weapons and other materials.he even let a few essential jews live if they produced.
Then he often disposed of them when they were no longer essential. --Just what socialists do. But i am not comparing him to the average well meaning socialist who happens to be considered left wing. Hitler was an extreme leftist...The kind where mass murder is the natural result. Stalin,Mao..the list goes on. Extreme leftists seem to love the slaughter of millions

Truth: Saying that the right-wing is about small government while the left is about big government is a ridiculous oversimplification of what these terms actually mean. The truth is that the terms "left" and "right" originate from the French Revolution and referred to seating arrangements in the French parliament, where the pro-monarchists were sitting in the right of the parliamentary president. It has nothing to do with small government and everything to do with conservatism and embracing hierarchy as something inevitable or desirable. ( 1 ) The left-wing on the other hand refers to those who support progressivism for the sake of social equality and egalitarianism ( 2 )

Myth number 4: Hitler was a leftist because he banned the guns.

Truth: Lets ignore the fact that being pro or anti-gun has nothing to do with whether someone is left or right-wing in any place except maybe the US, the truth is that Hitler did not in fact ban the guns. ( 1 , 2 )

Myth number 5: Hitler was a Marxist (yes I have heard that too)

Truth: Hitler hated Marxism and persecuted communists as well as anarchists.

Churchill became prime minister at the age of 66.

What is wrong with having an older PM!

Moderate MPs and peers and prominent donors have all caveated their continued lobour support upon a change of leader.

Obvs he wont go if contested but he will bow out under the pressure as he is now totally infused with the anti-Semitism in the party.

I say he will go before summer

:cuppaT:

I agree with a lot of what you say, but I wish he would fuck off tomorrow taking THAT MCDONUT WITH HIM ALONGSIDE THAT Diane Abbot as well.

According to a poster called "Old Hippy Guy" in another place, people lose brain cells as they age
So by that age Corbyn will only have half a brain left.

And, FYI, I don't have a problem with anyone's age
But I do have a problem with their lack of fitness to do the job.

Ffs, get real. You honestly think "submarine May" is fit to be PM?

Personally, I think that Theresa May will go after Brexit and before the next election
Conservatives will have a new leader, untarnished by the ups and downs of this Brexit fiasco (I voted remain btw)

What will Labour have?
A tired old man whose popularity has been gradually but inevitably slipping in the polls
And a shadow team with no credibility whatsoever.
